The 2017 L’Origine Pinot Noir exhibits brilliant, deep red-violet glints in the glass. More-terroir driven than ripe and easy Californian in nature, with pure aromas of cassis and fragrant raspberry fruit mingled with woodsy, truffled aromas, accents of cinnamon and violets. Rigorous limiting of yields in the early development of the grapes was the key to heightened quality.
